The next couple of weeks for reading we have nine things we have to complete. This is one of the things that we have to do. We have to follow some instructions to make the heart. We could choose what paper and what color and size we can make it out of.

Book Club
The past 2 weeks Miss Hines and Miss Power have set up a book club for the year 7 & 8's to go and pick books to read for 2 weeks at a time. I have already started and finished 1 book and I have started another one and it is called Anna and the Swallow Man but
I have only read up to chapter 1. The first book I read was called Sophie Someone and it was about this girl that had to travel half way across the country to escape and get new identity because her mother and father did something very bad. It was really detailed and some of the words were hard to understand because there are different words like pigeons - people, whirlpool - world and freckle - friend.

Hanmer Camp 2017
Last week Totara 2 and 3 went on the Hanmer Springs Camp. We had to do different activity's that we had not all done before. Some of the things we had to do was Mountain Biking, Tree Climbing, Mission Impossible and Orienteering. We got to go to the hot pools both night and we could go down the Super Bowl, one Spa Pool, the Lazy River, Lap Pool and the Hydro Slides. My favourite activity was Orienteering because it was really cool walking through the forest and trying to read the map. In my group for Orienteering I had Ella and Mya, we were aloud to have 3 - 4 people in a group and an adult if we wanted. We got 510 points out of the max of 600 and we did it with no parents.
