Matariki

This week we have started a new topic which is Matariki. We have to complete 12 actives out of about 40 and these are my first 2. We have to finish them by the end of next week. I have picked to do What is Matariki and What Sort Of Food Were Harvested at this time or year. 

Work Book

This week we are starting something new for our maths. It is called the Work Book and it has different types of questions we have to do in the week. On top of that we have to do our weekly revision, basic facts, 4 own choice maths buddy tasks, maths maintenance and 1 work sheet for whole class teaching. 

Book Club

The past 2 weeks Miss Hines and Miss Power have set up a book club for the year 7 & 8's to go and pick books to read for 2 weeks at a time. I have already started and finished 1 book and I have started another one and it is called Anna and the Swallow Man but
I have only read up to chapter 1. The first book I read was called Sophie Someone and it was about this girl that had to travel half way across the country to escape and get new identity because her mother and father did something very bad. It was really detailed and some of the words were hard to understand because there are different words like pigeons - people, whirlpool - world and freckle - friend.

Starry Night Vincent Van Gogh

The last couple of weeks we have been doing our Vincent Van Gogh topic in class. We have to do three activeys. We have to create 2 presentations, the first one is we have to make biography on all the information that we can find about him and the second one is to create a slide about what hatching is how to do it. Then we have to create a page about one of the paintings we like from Vincent Van Gogh's art and I pick Starry Night and we have to explain what it was about and when it was created.
